Celebrating Lawrence Ferlinghetti

Lawrence Ferlinghetti, poet, and publisher of City Lights Bookstore in San Francisco died on 22 February 2021 at age 101. 

In April 2022 area poets met at Canios Books in Sag Harbor to read from Ferlinghetti’s work. 

The readers were Fred Gardaphe,  Distinguished Professor of English and Italian/American Studies at Queens College and the John D. Calandra Italian American Institute.

George Wallace,  Writer-in-Residence at the Walt Whitman Birthplace;

and adjunct professor of English at Pace University.

Mary Mart, bookseller at Good Times Bookshop in Port Jefferson

Bart Malio, Poet, musician and author of the forthcoming poetry collection Out on the Rim of the Now.

Heidi Rain, writer, artist, and community activist
